Trauma Sensitive Yoga Sessions: Embodiment Practices for Healing
Video 1: Seated Practice: (17 minutes)
This first practice is a chair-based session that can be done seated on the floor or in a chair. Neck, spine and shoulder movements are offered, as well as the opportunity to explore linking breathing to movement.
Video 2: Standing Practice: (15 minutes)
This session offers standing forms that invite more muscular engagement. You are welcome to explore movement or stillness in standing, lunges and squats.
Video 3: Seated Mat Practice: (10 minutes)
Includes variations of forward folds and twists; you are also invited to explore stillness in this seated session.
Video 4: Tabletop Forms: (10 minutes)
You are invited to explore spine movements of twisting, rounding and lengthening with a different orientation to your mat in this session.
Video 5: Back Practice: (10 minutes)
In this final movement-based practice there is an opportunity to move while the back of your body is connected to your mat.
Video 6: Guided Rest: (7 minutes)
This session offers a guided rest that could be done in seated, on your back or any position with your body that feels available to you. You will be invited to interact with stillness and disengaging your muscles, and perhaps taking a few moments to allow your muscles to do a little bit less.
