Denise is an Integrative Psychotherapist with over ten years experience working with adults and young people. She has experience working with anxiety disorders, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, PTSD, complex trauma and attachment issues. She has trained in Ireland and the UK in Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Play and Creative Therapy. Using an individualised approach to therapy she works in collaboration with people to understand how their past impacted on their current experiences. Through her continued professional development and review of the latest research in neuroscience she understands that trauma leaves an imprint on the body and creates somatic symptoms. Talk therapy alone may not resolve these symptoms.
In the therapeutic relationship Denise seeks to develop a safe space for a person to explore their mind and body connections and to experience living in the present moment. Denise is an avid fan of the outdoors, hiking and travelling and enjoys a daily yoga practice. Her motto is “You have the power to create the life you want, regardless of your past”. Denise facilitates individual and group TCTSY sessions with adults, young people and children in Leinster, Ireland.
