Simona has been working in private and community settings for over 15 years. She started her clinical work in General Psychiatry almost 20 years ago and then devoted herself mainly to two clinical areas: eating disorders and trauma therapy. She has been working for 15 years in the treatment of eating disorders and in 2006, she started her journey as a trauma-informed therapist, becoming EMDR therapist in 2008 and EMDR accredited Consultant in 2015. She works to help people with severe and complex trauma to heal, and also participated in the emergency humanitarian activities carried out by the EMDR Italian Association. As a TCTSY-F, Simona is broadening her experience by offering TCTSY to individuals and groups, severely traumatized teenagers in hospital settings, inpatient teenagers with eating disorders, outpatient adults with eating disorders, and abused women. Simona collaborates with non-profit organizations to offer this service to as many people as possible. She is works in her community to help doctors, therapists and caretakers become more trauma-informed.
Giuseppe Capasso, TCTSY-F & 250H certified Hata-Yoga instructor Varese, Italy In my yoga classes, everyone is free to adapt their practice to the general conditions of their body and to the conditions of the moment in which they are practicing; people are able to stop, rest or, do something other than what I propose.
Two concepts are particularly important to me: Anicca, or impermanence, is borrowed from Vipassana meditation, and allows us to witness, feel, listen to, accept and not judge the sensations of the body; to be aware of their passing, and, thus to observe the present moment in practice and in daily life. The other concept is interoception, a fundamental tool for knowing our body sensations, our sense of self, and for resilience.
I offer my skills as a TCTSY facilitator at the psychotherapy centre ESSERE ESSERI UMANI, specializing in cases of trauma, complex trauma and PTSD, as well as eating disorders, adolescent problems, depression and anxiety with panic attacks. Top-down cognitive therapy is integrated with EMDR, Neurofeedback and bottom-up practices such as TCTSY, drama therapy and art therapy.
