Welcome! TCTSY is an adjunctive treatment for complex trauma and complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, developed in collaboration with the Trauma Center in Brookline, Massachusetts, since 2003 and as part of the Justice Resource Institute since 2006. TCTSY is utilized with children, youth, and adults throughout the United States and in dozens of countries around the world.
Please Note: Since 1987, The United States maintained a database for Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) that have met a high standard of empirical evidence in order to help those seeking care for addictions and mental health make informed choices. In 2016, after 13 years of research and thousands of hours of implementation, TCTSY was listed on this registry, becoming the first yoga model recognized in this way as an adjunctive treatment for trauma. In 2018, the United States federal government took down the registry of EBPs and replaced it with a generic set of recommendations. By making this change the United States government abdicated responsibility for oversight of EBPs. While we are deeply disappointed in this development, mostly because we are concerned that those seeking care will have less information to draw upon and that this may adversely affect outcomes, we are proud that our work contributed to maintaining language around yoga as a complimentary therapy even on the new, pared down website.
