Welcome! TCTSY, a program of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at JRI, is an adjunctive treatment for complex trauma and complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Developed in the United States, TCTSY is shared with children, youth, and adults around the world. TCTSY is equally accessible to all people regardless of age, gender identity, race, ethnicity, body type and physical ability. Our flagship program is our annual, 300-hour certification that begins each September.
Please Note: Since 1987, The United States maintained a database for Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) that have met a high standard of empirical evidence in order to help those seeking care for addictions and mental health make informed choices. In 2017, after 14 years of research and thousands of hours of implementation, TCTSY was listed on this registry, becoming the first yoga model recognized in this way as an adjunctive treatment for trauma. In 2018, the United States federal government took down the registry of EBPs and replaced it with a generic set of recommendations. By making this change the United States government abdicated responsibility for oversight of EBPs. While we are deeply disappointed in this development, mostly because we are concerned that those seeking care will have less information to draw upon and that this may adversely affect outcomes, we are proud that our work met the threshold for inclusion on NREPP in 2017.
